Studio Guide — Powering the Room
The room’s power points are numbered. Follow the numbers and you can’t go wrong.
Power up — follow the numbers:
- 1 — The mixer. Its power switch is on the mixer’s right-hand back corner, under the “1” label. Switch it on and let it boot.
- 2 & 3 — The master rack units, right-hand side of the workstation desk. These power up the rest of the room safely. One more rack unit in that stack stays on at all times — it’s labeled “do not turn off.” Never touch it.
- 4 — The workstation switch (other side of the desk): the wireless system, surround sound and PlayStation. The wireless system runs on hosted sessions — ask when booking.
- 5 — The drop between the bass rig and the sub, at the kit end of the room: bass rig, drum wedge and sub.
- 6 — The drop behind the guitar half-stacks: the guitar rig and one of the room lights.
- 7 & 8 — The main speakers, last. One switch behind each main, either side of the big screen. Speakers always come on last, so nothing pops.
Drops 10, 11 & 12 are pedalboard/utility outlets around the room (12 is by the drums) — use them for your own gear as needed.
Power down: walk it backwards — mains first, then 6, 5, 4, racks 2 & 3, and the mixer last. The always-on rack unit stays on.
Open the printable room power map — the same one-pager that hangs inside the studio door.
Leave it right: cables coiled, mics back in their spots, the kit as you found it, and pull the door shut behind you — your PIN dies when your session ends. Something wrong — a loud pop, a buzz that won’t quit, a burning smell? Stop, power down in reverse order, and message the studio at eternatasstudiosla@gmail.com. Please don’t go hunting inside the rack.
Studio Guide — Running the Mixer
The board is preset — gains, EQ and levels are already dialed in. The one control you may touch is the effects knob (reverb / echo amount). Everything else: hands off. If something sounds wrong, message the studio — don’t go hunting.
Plug in — follow the labels on the board:
- Singing? House vocal mics are Vox 1 and Vox 2 — two mics; their cables hang on labeled hooks.
- Phone playback? Use KALI BT, the Bluetooth input. (The “Dongle PB” channel is private — leave it.)
- Guitar? The white EVH 5150 is the communal rig — turn its noise suppressor on (channel 3 runs hot). The Marshall stack is private — not part of any rental.
- Bass runs through a DI into the board and the sub — levels are preset.
- The drum wedge and sub are fed from aux sends — already set.
Hands off, no exceptions: the Mac L/R channels, the rack (Apollos, pres, splitters, the studio hard drive), the audio snake, and every channel strip except the effects knob. Wireless in-ears run on hosted sessions with the engineer — ask when booking, and bring your own earbuds.
Hours
Open 9 AM – 2 AM. Self-serve bookings on PIN access (rehearsal, playback) run the full 9 AM – 2 AM window. Sessions that need an engineer or host on site — recording, live capture, hosted karaoke — book 3 PM – 2 AM. Hourly booking only; no monthly rentals.
Cancellation
Cancel free up to 48 hours before your session. Inside 48 hours, a 50% cancellation fee applies.
The Room — Gear
Console & recording core: 30-channel Mackie mixer · Universal Audio Apollo X8P + Apollo X4 interfaces · two ART line splitters · Pro Tools Ultimate with the full UAD plug-in library · Neve 5211 and Warm Audio WA-412 mic pres.
Monitoring & PA: Yamaha HS5 studio monitors · Yamaha mains + QSC sub · Mackie Thump12 drum wedge · two Shure PSM 300 wireless in-ear systems (bring your own earbuds).
Backline, included with the room: EVH 5150 half stack (original first-run) · Gallien-Krueger 700RB bass rig with Markbass 4×10 · 6-piece Mapex kit with DW 5000 double pedal — snare, hi-hat and ride included; drummers, bring your own crash cymbals (the crashes aren't part of the rental) · Roland Jupiter-Xm synth.
Lighting you control: a DMX lighting system (Venue Tetra Control) with a foot switch — run the room's lights yourself mid-set, or have them run for you on hosted sessions.
Clean takes, isolated signal: the ART line splitters keep the recording path isolated — no bleed from neighboring rooms, no outside noise in your takes. Ask to hear reference recordings made in this room.
Please note: the Marshall stack in the room is private and not part of the rental.
About

Eternatas Studios is the room Johnny Angel built after twenty years of learning music from the inside. Entirely self-taught — no audio school, no shortcuts — Johnny started on the Guitar Center Hollywood floor in 2005 and worked every rung: sales, merchandising, customer service manager, operations manager. Along the way he served as associate producer on Guitar Center Sessions, the live-performance series that aired on Spectrum's Audience channel for 110 episodes, and managed events from Drum Off and King of the Blues to Hollywood RockWalk inductions.
He later ran operations at Westlake Pro Audio in Burbank. The production craft here is all-encompassing — audio, video, and AI filmmaking under one roof. Hand him an idea and he can build the whole record from it: tracked, produced, and — depending on the production — mastered and streaming the same day.
Eternatas is where all of it lives now: a full production station one block from Capitol Records, run by an engineer whose education is twenty years of rooms like this one. Off the desk, he fronts Black Terror and builds the Faster Than Light universe.
